Josh Beveridge
My name is Josh Beveridge, and rugby is in my blood. I’ve been synonymous with Boroughmuir Rugby since I can remember. From growing up in the heart of the club’s community to representing the Boroughmuir Bears as a semi-pro, rugby has been my life.
My passion for the game ignited early, nurtured by the rich rugby culture that surrounded me. Working my way through the ranks was a natural progression, and I relished every moment. The past two years playing for the Boroughmuir Bears were an incredible experience. However, when the Super 6 competition folded, it was time for a new chapter. That led me to Australia, where I’m currently immersed in the vibrant club rugby scene.
Following in the footsteps of my dad, Graeme Beveridge – a Scotland scrum-half hailing from Peebles – has always been a source of inspiration. Like him, I’ve chosen to wear the number nine jersey. His legacy pushes me to strive for excellence every time I step onto the pitch.
My journey hasn’t been without its challenges. A torn ACL at 17 was a major setback, but it only fueled my determination to return stronger. Now, at 20, I’ve learned firsthand about the sacrifices and hard work required to make it in senior rugby.
Beyond the pitch, I spent the 2023-24 season working for Rugbystuff. It was a great opportunity to stay connected to the sport I love and gain valuable experience.
Rugby is more than just a game to me; it’s a way of life. It’s taught me dedication, perseverance, and the relentless pursuit of excellence. I’m excited to see what the future holds.
